Stars held like fireflies in the palm of your hand. Petals pressed into parchment to leave kiss-like stains. Gossamer wings, snatches of poetry—wishes and confessions scrawled side-by-side in mossy ink.

Welcome to Dreamer’s Field Guide.

Think of this journal as a walk through the enchanted woods followed by a private chat in an artist’s studio. It is a cottage library, a coven gathering, handwritten letters tucked between the pages of your favorite book.

Here, I share my own art and short fiction stories as well as experiences from my life as a mother-creative. It is a window into who I am as a person: messy, emotional, playful, introspective, raw.

If you find magic in the rustling leaves overhead, get lost between glimmers of dappled light, stay up until 2:00 am whispering just one more chapter…

Come in, friend. Welcome. I’ve been waiting for you.

WHO AM I

My name is Kerani (pronounced ker-ah-nee for the curious). I'm an author, fantasy photographer, and costume maker from the Pacific Northwest.

As far back as I can remember, I have been obsessed with stories. Books and tales of magic were my initial refuge as a child, a space where I learned how to process emotion through the lens of narrative. Whether it’s novel writing, taking photos, or sewing gowns for my portraits, I weave stories into everything I do.

This is my form of magic.

I started this journal as a place to explore my writing and challenge myself to move past fears of sharing my work online. The name Dreamer’s Field Guide was inspired by my tendency to look for magic around every corner. I’ve often felt like a bridge between two worlds, the ordinary and the make-believe, and these pages are an intersection of both.
