I have this terrible habit of mourning the end of summer before it has even begun. The pressing of time before she's ever arrived follows me around reminding I can't live in perpetual summer. But, this? This was gorgeous & I savoured every word.
Means a lot coming from you Brooke 🥰 I feel the same way, often sensing the ending of something just as it’s beginning. It’s an even sharper sensation now that I’m a mom. Every moment with my son is tinged with the slightest melancholy that he’ll never be this small again.
I've found it really helpful! Keeping in tune with earth rhythms helps me find a natural cycle of activity and rest. It's a good check against hustle culture and the glorification of productivity.
Makes a lot of sense. I’m a teacher so I do have a yearly cycle which I love, but being more in tune with the seasons would make it feel more connected and calm, rather than…’thank goodness it’s summer’ ;-)
Thank you my fellow PNWer! This cloudy haze we’re having is definitely exacerbating the feeling. I love fall, but I’ve really enjoyed this summer, I’ll be sad to see it end. Hope you and your little one are well!

I love the idea of allowing our personal expenditure of energy to be influenced by the earth's seasons. I think I fight that - unnecessarily!

"Where before I basked in the laziness of summer, I suddenly feel like time is running out."
Same, same, same. I was just thinking about this yesterday! Hope all is well

A beautiful invitation and I did that very thing yesterday tending to our apple tree after the winds. 🥰
That sounds so peaceful Claire 🥰
