That’s wonderful, thank you for sharing. It really is so important to carve out that time for ourselves, even more so during busy, hectic periods 🤍 Ooh, I’m intrigued by the winter solstice. Do you have any rituals?

I always do a tarot reading on each of the solstice and cross-quarter days, just a personal, asking of the universe what I need to keep in mind for the coming season ♥️ now that I have my little boy, I think I always want to start a tradition of baking cookies and reading by the light of the Christmas tree. Oh and sitting in the living room with all the lights except for the tree off! That was always one of my favorite things to do as a kid.

How very cosy! I’ve always loved the idea of tarot and find it soothing. Baking sounds like a wonderful tradition to start. I’ve wanted to bake recently, but just haven’t found the motivation that I normally do. Hoping I can make something soon!

I love tarot, I find it to be a very healing and self-reflective practice ♥ I'm planning to make some pistachio, orange, honey shortcakes this weekend, excited to see how they turn out! Hope you're able to get some baking in soon lovely 😊

I can feel the emotion through each word! An amazing piece.

I really hope there are small moments of peace for you over the holidays this year 🤍

Thank you Jenna ♥️ I always manage to carve out some space, it's just a conscious process. I always hope that the holidays be relaxing just because, but when they come around I'm reminded that I have to make that space for myself and claim that time, otherwise it'll be overtaken pretty easily by others' demands. I have small rituals in place to gift myself this. Winter Solstice is one, just a quiet, private family night with my husband and son.

So many echoes❤️

I may have to incorporate echoes as I continue working on this - it's such a perfect way to describe this time. Like the echoes of the past are sitting with us.

So true. ❤️

The oh so bitter festive undercurrent running silently beneath tinsel and fairy lights that ruins our dreams of warm, cosy Christmases. So brilliantly captured Kerani.

Love this Helen, bitter undercurrent is just the way to describe it. Like a lemon tart that's just a bit too sour.
