When I feel lost, writing brings me home
audio-diary 02 | summer reflections & a new book project
Hello friends, I’m thinking of using these audio-diary entries as an informal way to share updates on my current projects, kind of like a newsletter. I just love the personal touch of voice and how it feels more like a conversation. If you enjoyed this format, please let me know in the comments below ♡
In this letter:
My transition into being a stay-at-home-mom and accompanying emotional challenges
Respecting the sanctity of the creative sandbox
Coming home to writing and starting a new fantasy novel
Rococo for Dummies - how I’m attempting to sew an 18th century costume
Writing grounds me in a way that none of my other creative pursuits do. I’m a better human when I’m writing. My cup is fuller. I’m more centered and able to give more to the people around me because I feel more like myself.
Here also are some special moments from my life lately, both big and small. For all that it was overwhelming at the start, this summer has also been so beautiful and I’m feeling very grateful that I get to spend this time with my family and making art.
Until next time,
Thank you for reading Girl With Antlers. On this blog, I share my own fairytale art and short fiction stories, as well as personal experiences from my life as a mother-creative. You can sign up below to receive letters like this and other bits of magic straight to your inbox ❀

Happy writing,
I also feel the most grounded when I’m writing regularly-it really is as important as eating healthy or getting enough sleep for my well being. Also, your photos are lovely!
