A beautiful post, thank you! I love decorating my house for the seasons, and this ritual helps me cope with the changing seasons--when I don't want to let one of them go! I love late summer and autumn, but this year, I really looked forward to summer in a way I hadn't in years past. My appreciation for many things has grown since experiencing a few family tragedies over the last few years. Sometimes it takes that kind of thing to change your perspective, I guess. :)

Thank you for sharing Jan 🧡 I love the thought of decorating for each season. I always do for fall and the holidays, but there does seem to be magic in the idea of welcoming each season in with a physical representation in our homes. I'll have to try that for spring and summer next year!

I agree that loss and tragedy can certainly change perspectives. I think the more we experience, the more we can feel a need to ground in the present moment to remind ourselves where we are. My friend once sent me a card that had 'be here now' written across the front, and it's a mantra I repeat when I can feel my mind drifting into anxiety.

Exactly! This is what I've been experiencing lately. In the past I was always thinking about the future, missing the past or worrying about things I had no control over. These days are a bit different. Moments are more precious to me than every before. Thanks for sharing 'be here now.' I think I'll incorporate that into my daily meditation. Wishing you many blessings!

As a new mom, I definitely resonate with moments being more precious now than they were before 😊 I hope you find that mantra helpful and centering!

Right there with you on trying to navigate the change of seasons. I am finding posts like yours really helpful. Naming the little joys of autumn are giving me things to look forward to rather than just missing my green-leafed friends. Thank you for this!

I'm so glad you found it helpful Jenna! I think it's a balance of both honoring the fact that we'll miss summer and finding ways to embrace the joys that autumn can bring. Both feelings can be true.
